Kevin B. Weiss:
Kevin B. Weiss is the managing attorney for Weiss Legal Group, P.A. Mr. Weiss founded the firm in 1999 to provide quality legal services in the areas of personal injury, worker’s compensation and insurance disputes. Under his leadership, Weiss Legal Group, P.A. has grown to four lawyers and a legal support staff of seven. Additionally, the firm’s areas of practice now include corporate and entertainment law, family and divorce law appellate law and collections law.
In 2005, Kevin was recognized by his peers as being in the top 10% of attorneys in his practice area in the Best of the Bar survey conducted by the Orlando Business Journal. The 2006 Orlando Business Journal survey honored Kevin with being in the top 5% of attorneys practicing in Central Florida.
Kevin is active in the American Association for Justice, the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association, and the Orlando PIP Plaintiffs Association. He also serves as a member of the Florida Justice Association and serves on its insurance committee.
Kevin was raised in Longwood, Florida, attended local schools, and graduated from Lake Brantley High School. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, Kevin worked in education and politics, spending time in New York City, Jerusalem, Israel, and Washington, D.C. Kevin also studied history and archaeology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Weiss began law school at Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware and attended the University of Florida College of Law for his third year of law school. While in law school, Kevin served on the Widener Law Review (the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law) and clerked at the Delaware Supreme Court for Justice Joseph T. Walsh. He also received “book awards” for obtaining the top grades in criminal law and family law. At graduation, the Dean of the law school presented Kevin with the prestigiousJudge J. Cullen Ganey Criminal Law Award.
Kevin volunteers his time and legal experience by serving as an officer and board member of the Windsong Community Association, Inc. in Winter Park, Florida. In May of 2007, Kevin was elected to represent the Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando as its President of the Board of Directors. Kevin resides in Altamonte Springs, Florida. He and his wife Rona have been married for 15 years and are the proud parents of Shira, 7 and Jordan, 5.

Thomas Andrew Player:
After serving as a trial attorney in two other prominent litigation firms, Thomas Player joined Weiss Legal Group in February 2002.
Tom’s practice includes Appeals in all Florida State Courts, First-Party Insurance Litigation, Entertainment, Business, and Intellectual Property Law.
In 1998, Tom formed the Orlando Plaintiff’s PIP Association, a practice group for attorneys who litigate first-party insurance claims for individuals who have been unfairly treated or taken advantage of by their own insurance companies. Tom continues to chair this group, now in its ninth year, as insureds and the attorneys who represent them navigate an uncertain future in the face of the most recent legislative changes to the Florida No-Fault Laws.
Tom is active in the Entertainment, Arts, & Sports Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association, and is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (the Grammy Awards), The Florida Bar, the Seminole and Orange County Bar Associations, and the Florida Justice Association; Tom is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida.
Tom has lectured at continuing legal education seminars for the Florida Justice Association, and has been a panelist on the Florida Music Festival’s forum on legal issues in the music business. Tom is also an executive member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Entertainment Law Committee.
Tom was recognized by his peers as the number one entertainment attorney in Central Florida for the Orlando Business Journal's 2006 Annual "Best of the Bar" which recognizes attorneys at the top of their areas of practice.
Tom also plays bass guitar and did so professionally for many years. His experiences as a professional musician have given him considerable insight into the music business and an appreciation of the industry from the musician’s perspective.
Tom was raised in Michigan and graduated from East Lansing High School. During his high school years, Tom was a varsity athlete on the track and football teams, and competed on a national level in martial arts. Tom continued to compete in martial arts and track and field for many years after high school.
Tom’s family is from Charleston, South Carolina, but moved frequently until Tom’s father, a Major in the Air Force, retired and settled in Michigan. Tom considers himself a “Southerner raised in the North” and moved to Florida in 1986 where he obtained a bachelors degree in Finance from the University of South Florida, and was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. Following completion of his undergraduate degree, Tom earned his Law Degree and a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance, both from the University of Florida.
During his graduate studies, Tom clerked for a prominent Gainesville personal injury firm, and served as Chief Defense Counsel for the University of Florida Student Honor Court. In law school, Tom was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity, and earned a coveted “book award” for obtaining the top grade in his Negotiation class. Upon graduating law school, Tom briefly returned to Michigan to serve as in house counsel to a telecommunications company, before locating to the Orlando area in 1997.
Tom, his wife Lan, and their two year old son Tyler live in Maitland. They are parishioners at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and are members of the Jewish Community Center. Tom is a member of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, and serves as treasurer of his homeowners association. Tom loves music, Gator football, and above all else, spending time with Tyler and Lan.

Roy Jacob Smith, IV:
Roy J. Smith, IV, was born in Wauchula, Florida in 1975, but spent his formative years in North and South Carolina, graduating from Fort Mill High School in 1993. Roy went on to graduate from Nova Southeastern University with highest honors and served as the president of (AX) Alpha Chi honors fraternity. In May 2000 he graduated with honors from The University of Florida College of Law where he served as the Senior Articles Editor and Chief Judicial Panelist of the Florida Law Review. Roy was also the recipient of both the “Frank E. Maloney Award for Outstanding Candidate” and the “Gertrude Brick Award for Outstanding Board Member” from the Florida Law Review.
Upon graduating from law school, Roy moved to the Orlando area. After three years practicing in the realm of medical malpractice defense, he decided to dedicate his career to the representation of consumers and accident victims in the State of Florida as well as the representation of clients in family law matters. He is certified with the Collaborative Family Law Group of Central Florida, a member of the Florida Justice Association, and has had the opportunity to lecture on several occasions regarding the representation of automobile accident victims.
Roy and his wife have two daughters, with another daughter on the way. He is a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Jewish Community Center. He is an active member of the Maitland Chamber of Commerce, serves as the president of “The Round Table” chapter of Business Network International (B.N.I.), and is a director of his homeowner’s association. Roy also heads the firm’s “hands-on” involvement in several local charities.
Roy’s hobbies include song writing, playing guitar, and singing.

Justin H. Presser:
Justin H. Presser was born in Mesquite, Texas on September 26, 1980, before moving to Florida in 1985 where he has remained. He considers himself a native Floridian and was educated in the Orange County Public School System, graduating from Winter Park High School in 1999. After graduating Winter Park High, Mr. Presser attended the Florida State University where he received his bachelor degree in Political Science.
After graduating from Florida State University, Mr. Presser attended Florida A&M University - College of Law where he excelled academically, graduating with honors and as a member of Law Review, and was extremely involved in student affairs, twice representing his class to the Student Bar Association. While at Florida A&M University – College of Law, Mr. Presser also had the opportunity to intern with Federal Magistrate David A. Baker of the Middle District of Florida.
